I am a certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired serving children with visual impairments in the Metro Atlanta area. As an independent contractor, I work with public school systems, private schools, and individual families for private service. I provide direct service to students, collaborate with IEP team members, present trainings to educators, parents, and IEP teams, and complete a variety of assessments for students and school districts. My experience includes working with populations of students with visual impairments from birth through high school with various levels of low vision, blindness, deaf/hard of hearing, as well as all three phases of CVI.
I worked as a TVI at the BEGIN Program at the Center for the Visually Impaired in Atlanta, GA for 6 years before starting my contracting business, Visual Impairment Access, LLC, which is now in its 5th year. I have been a guest speaker on CVI at Georgia State University in the special education graduate program. I have also trained directly with Dr. Roman on the CVI Range. I have a Master of Education degree in Special Education, graduate-level certification in Visual Impairment from UNCO, and will complete my graduate-level certification in Cortical/Cerebral Visual Impairment from UMASS Boston in December 2021.
